The Brand

A Legacy of Innovation

From their Essex, UK headquarters, Q Acoustics has consistently pushed the boundaries of loudspeaker design — delivering performance that belies their price.

Home cinema with Q Acoustics speakers

Engineered for the Ears of Connoisseurs

Founded in 2006, Q Acoustics quickly established itself as a British audio brand that refuses to compromise. Their philosophy is simple: performance first. Every speaker is designed to deliver a thrillingly realistic soundstage that gets listeners closer to their favourite performers.

What sets Q Acoustics apart is their willingness to invest in proprietary technologies — from the game-changing Gelcore cabinet construction to the innovative BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drivers that provide 180° sound dispersion. These aren't cost-cutting measures; they're genuine engineering breakthroughs.

Today, their product range spans from the accessible 100i and 200i series — where entry-level audio gets a serious upgrade — through the award-winning 3000i and 5000 series, to the ultra-luxury Concept range that represents their engineering at its most uncompromising.

Core Technologies

Engineering Breakthroughs

Q Acoustics' products are defined by their proprietary technologies — innovations developed in-house and refined over nearly two decades.

Gelcore™ Cabinet Construction

The cornerstone of Q Acoustics' engineering. Gelcore uses a proprietary gel-like polymer between the inner and outer walls of the cabinet, creating a damping layer that silences panel resonances. The result? Cleaner, more transparent sound with no cabinet colouring the signal. Found across the Concept, 5000, and 3000i ranges.

P2P™ Bracing

Point-to-Point bracing targets the internal areas of the cabinet most susceptible to low-frequency panel vibrations. Strategically placed bracing structures stiffen critical cabinet zones without adding unnecessary mass or cost, improving stereo image focus and soundstage accuracy.

BMR Drivers

Balanced Mode Radiator drivers — Q Acoustics' most distinctive innovation. Unlike conventional cones, BMR drivers use a piston-like element that radiates sound evenly across 180° horizontally. This eliminates the narrow "sweet spot" problem, making the entire room a listening position. Used across soundbars and the Concept range.

HPE™ Tube Technology

Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer — a ported tube engineered inside the cabinet that reduces internal air pressure build-up at bass frequencies. The result: tighter, more controlled bass response even in compact enclosures. A clever application of physics over brute force.

Dual Gelcore™

The Concept range's evolution of Gelcore — dual-layered damping between cabinet walls, addressing both low and high-frequency cabinet noise. Combined with P2P bracing, the result is a cabinet so inert that it essentially disappears from the signal chain.

Isolation Base

Used on the Concept 300 floorstander, this technology decouples the speaker from its plinth via rubber isolation feet, preventing vibrational energy transfer between the cabinet and the floor. The speaker "floats," preserving bass purity and detail.

Product Ranges

From Accessible to Extraordinary

Every tier of Q Acoustics' lineup carries the brand's engineering DNA — but the further up the range, the more advanced the technologies and the more uncompromising the materials.

Concept Range

Q Acoustics' uncompromising flagship — where every penny disappears into performance. The Concept 500 (launched 2014, starting at £6,000/pair) established the range with its revolutionary Dual Gelcore cabinet, Isolation Base, and 43mm soft dome tweeter. The Concept 300 standmount and Concept 50 ("the Concept 300 in a slender frame") bring this flag-ship DNA to more accessible price points, proving that luxury audio need not be out of reach.

5000 Series

The flagship of Q Acoustics' core range — the 5050 floorstander (joined by the 5040, 5020, and 5010) represents the brand at its most dynamic. A notable shift in emphasis: dynamism, clarity, and agility now take centre stage. Features Gelcore cabinet construction, P2P bracing, HPE tube technology, and a 25mm soft dome tweeter. Available in Satin Black, Satin White, Rosewood, and Oak finishes.

Award-Winning

3000i Series

Q Acoustics' most acclaimed range — winning more awards, accolades, and praise than any series in the brand's history. The 3050i floorstander (the range's flagship) and 3020i bookshelf speakers have been lauded by What Hi-Fi? and critics worldwide. Gelcore construction, 22mm soft dome tweeter, and P2P bracing bring premium engineering to a mid-range price. The 3010i provides entry into the i-series family.

Entry Level

100i & 200i Series

The accessible end of the range — but accessible doesn't mean compromising. The 100i series (including the 1000i subwoofer) delivers Q Acoustics' signature sound at an entry price, while the 200i series bridges the gap with ceramic-coated paper bass cones and P2P bracing. For those on a tight budget, the 200i range is where the real value lives — impressive sound without the premium price tag.

The Soundbar Revolution — M3, M4 & M5

Q Acoustics brought something genuinely different to the soundbar market: BMR drivers. While competitors rely on conventional tweeters with narrow dispersion, Q Acoustics' BMR technology provides 180° horizontal sound spread — meaning the entire room becomes the sweet spot.

The M5 (flagship) features dual BMR arrays, a 100W amplifier, and a 150mm elliptical bass driver. The M4 and M3 bring similar BMR technology at lower price points, each with 100W amplification. All models support wireless subwoofer pairing for a complete home cinema experience.

They've since expanded into Easyfit in-ceiling speakers (QI65CE, QI65CWE, QI80CE) for discrete whole-home audio, with larger models planned for 2026.
